Illustration and Design

2D illustrations and layouts can be created in a variety of styles to fit a client's needs, from simplified line art and schematic layouts to fully rendered digital paintings. These can be used for many purposes, including journal covers, illustrations for scientific papers, educational materials, medical legal work, medical device visualization, pharmaceutical design layouts, assets for animations or presentations, and much more. This style can also be combined with 3D models and scientific visualizations for more impact.

3D Modeling

3D models can be used to render and re-render static images at multiple views to be used as illustrations for the purposes listed above. They can also be used as assets for interactive or moving media. There is a lot of potential in anatomical 3D models, especially as learning tools that can be manipulated in 3D space or virtual reality.

Scientific Visualization

Scientific visualization involves translating real data (from CT or MRI scans, x rays, tissue samples, or molecular data) into visuals that can clearly tell a story. Working from actual scientific data provides a solid backbone of accuracy, or patient-specific visuals, while the artistic touch provides clarity to the images and information. MRIs and CTs especially can be very difficult for non-experts to understand, and the work of a medical illustrator can greatly help communicate information.
