3D models can be used to render and re-render static images at multiple views to be used as illustrations for the purposes listed above. They can also be used as assets for interactive or moving media. There is a lot of potential in anatomical 3D models, especially as learning tools that can be manipulated in 3D space or virtual reality. 

Scientific visualization involves translating real data (from CT or MRI scans, x rays, tissue samples, or molecular data) into visuals that can clearly tell a story. Working from actual scientific data provides a solid backbone of accuracy, or patient-specific visuals, while the artistic touch provides clarity to the images and information.
